Do Heirlooms do any extra damage in Apex Legends?

With free-to-play models and microtransactions continuing to dominate the competitive shooter genre, it's perhaps no surprise that many players are skeptical that some of these cosmetics aren't doing a bit more than advertised. Here's a breakdown of whether or not Heirlooms do any extra damage in Apex Legends.

Do Heirlooms Do Any Extra Damage in Apex Legends?

Officially, just as seen with other competitive titles like Valorant and Warzone, Respawn Entertainment has maintained that Heirlooms indeed do not do any extra damage or have any performance-affecting properties whatsoever. They are purely cosmetic and serve no practical purpose.

Although Heirlooms like Revenant’s scythe might look massive, the melee hitbox does not change and its users still deal the same amount of damage as a normal melee.

Of course, that's not to say that Heirlooms don't have any placebo effects either. By the very nature of the looks and various special effects that come with using such premium offerings, it's not rare to come across someone who truly feels they play better when using a certain skin of an item.

Ultimately, however, having an Heirloom equipped does not statistically improve one's melee attacks in Apex Legends.
