Team Silent's Silent Hill 2 became a huge success upon its release back in 2001. This survival horror game boasts millions of sales worldwide due to its great storytelling, well-rounded characters, and exciting gameplay that compliment the twisted atmosphere. James Sunderland's quest to uncover a mysterious letter from his deceased wife lured players into the chaos of Silent Hill. It's even earned a spot as one of the best horror games to many lovers of the genre.
A remake of the PlayStation 2 game was announced during the Silent Hill Transmission presentation on Oct. 19, 2022. Team Silent also passes the baton to Bloober Team for the development process, and we haven't heard anything about a clear release date until recently.
According to Insider Gaming, a ResetEra user noticed that Australian video game retailer, Gorilla Gaming, posted an expected release date of Sept. 29, 2023. This date hasn't be confirmed yet, so it's best not to get your hopes up too much. The Silent Hill 2 Store Page recently changed from "TBA" to "Coming Soon," so it may come out this year.
Silent Hill 2's upgrades look promising. The remake will have enhanced graphics, better audio quality, improved controller/mouse support, widescreen camera fixes, and more. In addition to that, players will enjoy new and old enemies, an over-the shoulder-camera, and other features to make the gaming experience more fun. Silent Hill 2 will support PC and PlayStation 5, but we have yet to hear the price of the game.
