From Thursday to Monday, Pokémon GO players will see the Lunar New Year event come to fruition. The event comes with new five and three-star raids, special timed research Pokémon, added bonuses and many wild encounters.
In the image of the real-life holiday, players will be able to celebrate by capturing some of their favorite Pokémon with increased luck to encourage possible shiny Pokémon being found.
Pokémon GO Lunar New Year 2023: All Wild Encounters
The event will see several wild encounters be appear more frequently, with these Pokémon primarily taking the spotlight for the duration of the event.
- Ponyta
- Magmar
- Magikarp
- Slugma
- Numel
- Combee
- Buneary
- Fennekin
- Bunnelby
Players will have the chance to even run into a Darukmaka or a Flareon in their wild encounters, but both of these Pokémon are being considered rare, so players will have a harder time encountering them.
All of these Pokémon, aside from Flareon and Fennekin, might be found in their shiny form if players are really lucky.
Many other Pokémon can be found by players through various other methods like research tasks, hatching eggs and various types of raids. Dedicated players should keep up their drive to find new Pokémon if they're looking to fill up their Pokédex.
Pokémon GO's Lunar New Year event will last from Jan. 19, to Jan. 23 and will be available as soon as players open the app on their device .
