Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Koraidon: Everything We Know

The trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet dropped Wednesday and with it fans got an all-new look at the new Pokémon professors, starters, rival, and legendaries, not to mention the internet's new favorite Pokémon Lechonk. One of the box legendaries we got to see for the first time was Pokémon Scarlet's Koraidon. Here's everything we know about the brand new legendary Pokémon Koraidon.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Koraidon: Everything We Know

Koraidon is the counterpart to Pokémon Violet's Miraidon. Koraidon and Miraidon both resemble some sort of motorcycle-Pokémon hybrid, with Koraidon resembling a much more present/past design, while Miraidon is clearly more futuristic. Koaridon is predominantly red, featuring some white accents throughout its body, as well as some black spiky parts, most notably on its throat area, resembling to texture of a wheel. We don't know anything about its typing yet, but according to Bulbapedia, certain parts of its name allude to the words, ancient, dragon, and ride.

Koraidon is set to appear exclusively in Pokémon Scarlet, with Miraidon appearing in Violet. While the themes and broad strokes of the stories in Scarlet and Violet will likely be similar, Pokémon does seem to be setting itself up for games that diverge in story more than the average iteration does within its own generation. The two different professors, exclusive legendaries, and rumored Pokémon academies that will feature in Scarlet and Violet, look set to create a unique experience in Generation IX.

With plenty of new and exciting features apparently on the way, trainers should be excited for the brand new generation of Pokémon games coming soon.
