Lego seems to be working its way through Nintendo's IP, and the next franchise to get the block treatment is Animal Crossing.
Nintendo confirmed the collaboration on Twitter with a short but sweet trailer showing off some of the characters and other potential pieces that could appear in the upcoming sets. The official website also promises that more will be revealed soon.
We can ascertain some information from the 11-second trailer. There are eight mini-figures, including a few notable characters like Tom Nook, Isabelle, and Kapp'n along with some villager characters like Rosie, Bunnie, and Marshall. In the trailer, Rosie appears to be holding a Lego flower. For the set pieces, we can see trees with cherry, orange, and green apple pieces along with yellow and pink flower pieces. The trailer ends with the Animal Crossing and Lego logos.
The collaboration was leaked in August, which tipped up to five sets available for purchase on March 1, 2024. The smallest set is rumored to be 170 pieces while the largest might be 535 pieces, ranging from $14.99 to $74.99. We'll know for sure once official details get released, but the leaks were correct about the existence of Lego Animal Crossing.
This is not the first collaborative effort between Nintendo and Lego. The two companies have also done Mario and Donkey Kong sets, including a 2,807-brick Lego Bowser that costs $270. However, unlike the Animal Crossing set, neither of the other Nintendo sets includes mini-figures.
