It appears NBA 2K23 is set to introduce another new shot meter.
As longtime fans of the NBA 2K series can attest to, one of the most commonly changed features that 2K and Visual Concepts cook up between installments is the shot meter. Thanks to recent leaks of what appears to be early access gameplay, it seems the NBA 2K23 shot meter has already been revealed.
As made by @LoadingThaGoat and shared by @NBA2KMovement on Twitter, the NBA 2K23 does appear to be similar to last year's version in that it is still a vertical bar.
Players will start their shot motion, causing the meter to fill up to an optimal green window point.
Where the NBA 2K23 meter seems to change from the last one, however, is that there is no more extra part after the perfect release zone.
This makes it so that just like in NBA 2K18, 2K19 and 2K20 days, players in 2K23 will simply need to focus on filling the meter all the way to the top before releasing it.
Ultimately, the NBA 2K community has seen just about every type of practical shot meter you could possibly come up with, from it being above players' heads to near the base of their feet.
This one should be really easy to get used since its pretty similar to last year's.
Of course, most players will likely just turn it off altogether considering you get a shooting boost for playing with no meter on.
As always, with all leaks and rumors, feel free to take this information with a grain of salt until it's confirmed by 2K.
