After dominating the first week of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play, the ISO Hemlock Assault Rifle is now banned from the competitive playlist.
MW2 Ranked Play has reinvigorated multiplayer for Call of Duty. The new system allows players to progress through eight Skill Divisions and earn rewards as they compete in Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, and Control under the CDL ruleset. There are also cool new graphics to display their overall rank, win streaks, and if they are lucky, their name on the Top 250 Leaderboard.
Despite the mode's success, there have been a couple downsides, most notably hackers and the ISO Hemlock's absurd TTK. The ISO Hemlock comes with the Season 2 Battle Pass and can be unlocked for free in Sector B11.
ISO Hemlock Banned in MW2 Ranked Play
Thankfully, the ISO Hemlock is no longer in Ranked Play. Along with the TAQ-V, the ISO Hemlock is now a restricted weapon.
According to Treyarch Studios, the ISO Hemlock will still be unrestricted in custom loadouts, but once a player begins a game, the gun will switch to restricted. They go on to say, "Both weapons will be hidden in the custom loadout screen in a future update."
The ISO Hemlock was a highly accurate, overpowered AR that killed opponents in two bullets. Even professional players struggled in gunfights against the weapon.
Now that the broken AR has been removed, Ranked matches will return to an even playing field between the TAQ-56 and the Vaznev-9K. Check out their best loadouts here.
