Paramore fans are convinced that the band is appearing in some fashion tonight at The Game Awards 2022 following some social media teases.
Geoff Keighley, creator of The Game Awards, has been interacting with the band on social media as the band from Franklin, TN released the music video for new single "The News." Paramore posted the video on Twitter as fans flocked to check out the single that has been teased for months now. Keighley also interacted with the tweet using the eyes emoji hinting that the band might be debuting the song live tonight at The Game Awards.
Adding further speculation to the band appearing at the show, Keighley tweeted out, "Tonight Tonight. Turn On The News." A call-to-action for viewers excited for the event, but also a reference to the band's new single.
Is Paramore Performing at The Game Awards 2022?
There's rampant speculation on Twitter currently that the band is appearing and perhaps performing "The News" for the first time live at the show.
As of writing, there has been no confirmation of the band appearing but signs point toward a performance. It would be too much of a coincidence for Keighley to be teasing fans on Twitter by not only interacting with the band on the day of the show and by using lyrics from the song to promote the broadcast.
The Game Awards has had notable live acts before including Imagine Dragons and JID who performed "Enemy" from the hit Netflix and League of Legends series Arcane.
The Game Awards 2022 broadcast starts today, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
