Is Madden NFL 23 cross-platform?
With the latest iteration of the football video game franchise set to land on PlayStation, Xbox and PC once again later this month, it's perhaps no surprise that many are wondering whether or not the game will incorporate some features never seen before in the franchise. As such, here's a breakdown of whether or not Madden 23 will have crossplay.
Does Madden NFL 23 Have Crossplay?
Unfortunately, Madden NFL 23 will not support crossplay between PlayStation, Xbox and PC players.
Madden 23's absence of crossplay was confirmed by an EA community manager on the EA Answers HQ forum.
"Cross platform is not available for Madden NFL 23," EA_Aljo wrote, "If you are on PS5 and have dual entitlement, you can download the Gen 4 version of the game to play with your friend(s) if they are on Gen 4. Same goes for Xbox One X/S if you have dual entitlement too."
As also explained in the answer, next-gen console players must have the current-gen version of the game downloaded in order to play with those on current-gen within the same console family.
Madden NFL 23 is set to release worldwide for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC (via EA app, Origin, Steam and Epic Games Store) on Aug. 19, 2022. EA Play (via Early Access Trial) and EA Play Pro subscribers, as well as those who pre-order the All Madden Edition, will have early access to the game starting on Aug. 16.
