CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Twitch legend Tyler Blevins aka Ninja received backlash after he made a remark about Tfue's decision to go on an indefinite break from streaming, revealing his own struggles as a content creator.
Turner 'Tfue' Tenney, a well-known 'Fortnite' streamer, confessed in a YouTube video that he felt "trapped" in front of a screen on June 20, announcing he would be taking a long break from streaming. Many people in the streaming community were moved by Tfue's choice to take a break, and Twitch star Ninja too added his voice to the conversation by sending a special message to his fellow 'Fortnite' teammates.
'It’s just miserable the whole time'
When Ninja watched Tfue's "goodbye" video on TikTok, the former 'Halo' pro expressed sympathy and said that it can be "f**king impossible" to stream eight hours a day when you don't want to. The internet sensation mentioned that individuals who have streamed for eight hours every day for a year straight can understand what Tfue went through, likening it to working a 9-to-5 job.
@ninja Hope you see this turner, love you bro and I know you are going to enjoy your time off. I’ll be missing my #Fortnite rival <3 won’t be the same #tfue #ninja #fypシ ♬ original sound - Ninja“If you haven’t streamed and haven’t had to put on a show and be entertaining and be invested… when you really don’t want to be there. Imagine you just don’t want to be there. You don’t want to be doing what you’re doing,” Ninja said.
He added, “There are probably hundreds of thousands of people who don’t want to work where they work and they work 9-5 and it’s just miserable the whole time,” he said, comparing it to streaming. “If you don’t want to do it, it’s tough. It’s hard.”
'Rich people problems'
Ninja shared the video on TikTok that added a special message to Tfue in the TikTok’s caption writing: “Hope you see this Turner, love you bro and I know you are going to enjoy your time off. I’ll be missing my Fortnite rival. Won’t be the same.” However, the video received mixed reactions from netizens. One user wrote, "People work 12-14 hrs a day and still go home and stress about money and food." Another commented, "Wipes tears with millions of dollars". A third user expressed, "Multi millionaires crying about having to do their job". Someone else said, "I don't think there's any way in hell you can convince me that steaming 8 hours a day is worse than working a 9-5 everyday." A fifth user wrote, "Rich people problems".
