A new teaser trailer shows what appears to be a crossover between Call of Duty: Warzone and the classic Kaiju monster, Godzilla.

Is Godzilla Coming to Warzone?

Activision released a teaser April 13 depicting Caldera being struck by the Nebula bomb, an in-game drop that coats a portion of the map in a toxic gas for a short period of time. Several players are seen fighting through a squad of Nazi soldiers before coming up on a truck full of canisters and chemicals. The narrator then describes how the bombs had awoken something far more powerful than we could imagine. After that the video cuts to the end credits, with a static-y, yet undeniably animal-like roar in the background.

There's a lot of speculation regarding about whether that roar was actually Godzilla, or just a bait and switch. But to fans of the recent movie series, there are some key hints that point to the possibility of it being real.

First off, the teaser mentions there being a "storm brewing" which was a metaphor often used in the movies to describe the return of the Kaijus. Additionally, the Nebula bombs and their perceived chemical damage to wildlife fall in line with the theme of Godzilla, namely, that nature will fight back if humanity thinks its existence trumps that of nature.

Finally, there are a few visual hints hidden inside the trailer. The first one is one of the characters who, despite being in a World War 2 game, has a helicopter helmet with the yellow symbol of the first Air Cavalry Division on it. This is the same symbol used by the Sky Devils helicopter squadron in Kong Skull Island, the prequel to the Godzilla reboot movies.

Secondly, some of the canisters in the truck are emblazoned with white triangles that look eerily similar to the symbol of Monarch, the fictional organization trying to contain these monsters.

Overall, these are some cool potential easter eggs, and points toward the possibility of Godzilla crossing over into COD. It seems to have come out of nowhere, but for fans of the giant lizard, it's a change that's more than welcome.
