Fortnite's latest update introduced the Falcon Scout, a great tool for looting and scouting in the Battle Royale.
As the major new item available from Chapter 4's version 23.20 update, the Falcon Scout provides players with a handful of new abilities to utilize in game. Although the item cannot be used as a weapon, it has other essential features that will make a player's game much easier and safer.
How to Use the Falcon Scout in Fortnite
The Falcon Scout is a remote controlled item that flies within a radius of your location. Acting as another set of eyes while you remain stationary, the Falcon Scout can survey an area, ping or place markers, and caw to mark all opponents in that radius.
The Falcon Scout is also an effective looting tool. Without having to move, players can simply deploy the Falcon Scout and have the item loot for them. The Falcon Scout can open containers and pick up ground loot to bring back to your location. In a bind, the Falcon Scout can even fly and retrieve a fallen teammate's reboot card, as long as it is in the maximum radius.
Despite the Falcon Scout's many advantages, deploying the item will leave a player vulnerable. It is important to make sure you are either in a safe location before utilizing the item or your squad is nearby to watch over you. The Falcon Scout itself is also vulnerable to damage from enemy players.
Falcon Scouts can be found from the ground, regular Chests, Oathbound Chests, and Supply Drops. Once one is in your inventory, select the fire button and deploy the Falcon Scout. You are able to control it like a drone, and use it however you need to secure the Victory Royale.
