Spearheaded by the efforts of developer Codemasters and publisher EA Sports, F1 22 is set to usher in the new era of Formula 1 in gaming, serving as the official title of the 2022 FIA Formula One World Championship.
In modern sports video games, whether it's NBA 2K's MyTeam or MLB The Show's Diamond Dynasty, live-service card-collecting modes like Ultimate Team have routinely been supported. As such, here's a breakdown of whether or not F1 22 has an Ultimate Team mode.
Does F1 22 Have Ultimate Team?
Unfortunately, F1 22 does not have an Ultimate Team mode.
It does have a My Team Career mode once again, however, for those who simply want to be able to manage their own team of racing drivers.
In My Team, players are invited to build their own F1 team and serve as an owner and a driver, with the ability to pick existing stars for their roster of talent or make a team completely from scratch.
The main new feature this year with My Team is that players will also be to customize how their team enters the competition and the direction they wish to take.
For instance, there are three Entry Points to choose from, including Newcomer, Midfielder Challenger or full-on Championship Contender.
Appearance customization is still a huge component of the My Team mode, with players being able to tailor their car designs, complete with paint finishes and decals that match their driver's wear and facility colors as well.
F1 22 is set to release worldwide for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC on July 1, 2022. EA Play (via Early Access Trial) and EA Play Pro subscribers, as well as those who purchase the Champions Edition, have had early access to the game since June 28.
