The Call of Duty League finally announced where Major IV will take place in April.
The 2023 CDL season consists of six majors across the country, all hosted by a different franchise. Major IV was originally set to occur in New York, hosted by the New York Subliners, but due to complications, the plans fell through.
On such short notice, the scramble to find another location proved a difficult task for the CDL. With Major III just two weeks away, the CDL finally announced their plans for Major IV.
Call of Duty League Major IV Location Announced
Thankfully, after rumors of a possibly online tournament, Major IV will be held on LAN in Columbus, Ohio. The downside is the event will be played in front of no live audience.
Major IV in the Cold War season was also held in an empty arena as a result of COVID-19 restrictions. The absence of a live crowd lessens the electricity of a major tournament. Coming off Major III, hosted by OpTic Texas, Major IV will be eerily quiet.
Without fans, though, there will at least be no threats to the competitive integrity of Search and Destroy matches. Players will have a much easier time getting off a ninja defuse without a screaming crowd.
Qualifiers for Major IV kick off on Mar. 31 on Twitch.
