Wrath of the Lich King is back. As expected, Blizzard announced the next version of World of Warcraft Classic, but with a twist.
World of Warcraft is in a strange place currently. The player base has been dwindling for quite some time, and after a decent Shadowlands launch, it's been nothing but downhill. There have been complaints about in-game systems, storytelling, and borrowed power.
Add in multiple lawsuits and the pandemic, you have a product with a serious lack of content. That's why Tuesday's announcements were so needed. The new expansion for Retail and WotLK should help.
Wrath of the Lich King Release Date Information
Players will start at level 55 for Death Knight, but for everyone else, you'll be leveling to the new level cap of 80. But for the actual release date, Blizzard simply said 2022. This is probably because the next expansion was not given a release date at the time of writing. But that most likely looks like a fall launch or a winter launch. Then the new expansion will be set for late 2022 or early 2023.
