NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Who doesn't love watching Kai Cenat's streams? The Twitch king who has over 6 million followers has risked a ban from the social media platform due to copyright issues over Travis Scott's music video.
Recently, rapper Travis Scott released his latest album 'Utopia' on Friday, July 28. This comes 5 years after the release of his studio album 'Astroworld'. Meanwhile, Scott gave a shout-out to Cenat after the streamer was spotted dancing and holding two 'Utopia' briefcases.
'Today’s actually fire as f*ck'
The 'Utopia' briefcases were shackled to Cenat's wrists as he started his most recent live broadcast. Fans initially thought these briefcases were the authentic, $20,000 models. The 'Utopia' Briefcase is a promotional item for Scott's most recent album, which was reshared by the American rapper on his Instagram. While Cenat seemed to be playing around, something unexpected occurred. Scott himself joined Cenat's livestream.
In his live stream, Cenat said, "Yo Travis Wassup Bro? YO TRAVIS WASSUP! Chat, I ain’t gon lie; today’s actually fire. Today’s actually fire as f**k.” Cenat is known for his exaggerated expressions and views while streaming. The streamer has previously reacted to comparable circumstances in a similar explosively bewildered way, especially after Nicki Minaj texted the streamer to ask for a joint stream. But it seems like, this innocent and excessively exuberant side of their favorite streamer is just adored by the fans!
Several fans commented on Cenat's video. A user wrote, "Who else thinks utopia is album of the year?" The second user commented on Cenat's reaction and said, "Kai always makes the album reactions fun when you watch him do them live it was a great album Beyonce and Drake songs were my fav." While the third user wrote, "Insane production, he really pulled off a yeezus rodeo x cudi album whilst adding in his own new shit. ITS FIRE."
Will Twitch ban Cenat?
Cenat took to Twitch to debut the 'Utopia' music video during a stream that received up to over 100,000 views. However, Cenat might have run the risk of getting banned from the network for infringing copyright regulations because of his Travis Scott listening party. Due to Twitch's laws forbidding the streaming of music that is copyright-protected on the service, Cenat may experience a copyright strike on his account sooner rather than later.
"Using unauthorized music on Twitch may result in a rights holder sending a takedown request under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) or similar laws or through a separate contractual process,” reads Twitch’s TOS. As of this writing, Twitch has hushed the segment of Cenat's channel when he plays 'Utopia' from the VoD, but you can still see his account.
