Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been given a release date, leaving fans to wonder if there'll be a multiplayer beta somewhere down the line.
After weeks of leaks and teases, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been given a release date of Oct. 28, 2022. The release will be 2022's offering for the franchise, ahead of its break from yearly releases in 2023. Needless to say that all eyes will be on MW2 when it finally launches, given the mixed reception received by last year's Call of Duty: Vanguard.
With the excitement building, fans have begun wondering if a multiplayer beta is on the cards before the game launches. Here's what we know so far.
Will Modern Warfare 2 Have a Multiplayer Beta?
At the time of writing, Activision has yet to confirm if there will be any open or multiplayer betas for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. However, leaks have already begun to surface that suggests there will in fact be an open beta before launch.
According to CharlieIntel, pre-orders of Modern Warfare 2 will include access to an open beta, at least for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 users.
Given that these are simply leaks at this point, it's unclear whether the same bonus will be granted for players on other platforms.
No date has been set for the open beta, but given how things have worked with previous entries it'll likely open a few weeks prior to the game's official release.
