Phil Brooks, known for his in-ring wrestling name CM Punk, made his shocking return to WWE at Survivor Series: War Games over the weekend to critical acclaim.
Punk left the company in 2014 seemingly walking away from professional wrestling/sports entertainment for good. In 2021, he came back debuting for All Elite Wrestling on Rampage: The First Dance. His run in the company would end mired in controversy with his last match taking place at All In: London against Samoa Joe for the "Real World Championship." Punk was fired and many were unsure if that was truly the last we'd seen of Punk in the wrestling world.
Well, fans were in for one of the biggest shocks of all time as Living Color's Cult of Personality blared over the speakers in the Allstate Arena. Fans were even thrown off by the company watermark appearing in the bottom right corner, normally a sign that the broadcast is over.
Why Fans Hope CM Punk Will be Added to WWE 2K23 Soon
The show closed with Punk embracing fans in his hometown of Chicago. What followed was endless buzz and hype surrounding something fans would say they'd never see again in their lifetimes.
Punk is set to appear on Monday Night Raw tonight, Nov. 27, and the ball is seemingly rolling for a feud with currently World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. Though, that's not all fans hope is in store. WWE 2K23 is the current flagship video game for the sports entertainment brand and fans hope Punk is set to be added soon.
Punk was previously the cover star of WWE 13 and those involved must know that there's a ton of money to be made from adding Punk as a downloadable character in the coming weeks/months.
Funny enough, Punk would be available in both WWE 2K23 and AEW: Fight Forever if he was added to the former. He'd follow suit with Cody Rhodes being available in both.
