A new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone season means a new community event that ties into the lore of the latest update. Not only is Graves back from the dead and available to unlock in the Season 5 Battle Pass, along two new weapons, but he is also now recruiting new followers to his side in an escalating conflict.

Warzone Season 5 Faction Showdown Event: Details
To compete in the Warzone Season 5 Faction Showdown Event, players must choose a side: Task Force 141 or Shadow Company. They can pledge their loyalty by accessing the in-game Events tab and then choosing their desired faction. The option is always available to change sides mid-event.
Each faction will provide a unique set of challenges for players throughout the Faction Showdown Event. The Task Force 141 challenges will force players to kill enemies up close with melee weapons and then hit Battle Rifle longshots. Shadow Company members must tally SMG kills from behind while also using Launchers and Lethal Equipment to eliminate the opposition.
No matter what side a player chooses, though, the main goal of the entire event is the same: earn 50 Operator kills.
Warzone Season 5 Faction Showdown Event: Rewards
The Warzone Season 5 Faction Showdown Event rewards for completing both the main goal and all your faction challenges are as follows:
- Calling Card
- Emblem
- Tier Skips
- Vehicle Skins
- Weapon Blueprint
The faction that has the highest amount of total kills in the community will also gift these rewards to their loyal subjects:
- Operator Skin for Soap or Horangi (depending on which side wins)
- Universal weapon camouflage
- One-hour Double Battle Pass XP Token
When Does Warzone Season 5 Faction Showdown Event Start?
The Warzone Season 5 Faction Showdown Event starts on Friday, Aug. 4. Players will have less than two weeks to complete all the challenges of their chosen faction and earn the available rewards. The Faction Showdown Event ends on Aug. 16.
