GTA 6 fans convinced minimal teaser image has hidden detail about game
The trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 will be arriving for the whole world to see on December 5th after more than 10 years of fans waiting for the next installment of the incredibly popular gaming series. The game's developer Rockstar Games announced on December 1st that the trailer would be arriving on Tuesday and even before the announcement, fans were pouring over every possible detail they could find. Some believe they've already pinpointed where the game will be set, the size of the map which is expected to be humungous and just how "beautiful" the graphics will be. Ahead of the trailer Rockstar Games released a single image for the trailer which is of a sunset against palm trees and three seagulls. Nothing too special and worth reading into? Think again. Over on Reddit, fans have theorised that the three birds could signify that the game will again have three playable characters again just like there were in GTA 5. One Reddit user wrote: "I was wondering if the three birds were significant, like maybe we’re getting three characters again." IGN reports that people think the birds signify what songs could be included in the game with popular suggestions being 'Three Little Birds' by Bob Marley and The Wailers or 'Free Bird' by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Whether the birds mean anything remains to be seen but fans won't have to wait long to find out but there is no date on when the game will actually be released with some fearing that it could still be years. Grand Theft Auto is coming to Netflix when GTA 6 trailer drops
Netflix has announced that three new games, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy, will launch on its app in December when the trailer for GTA 6 comes out. Excitement for the new GTA 6 game has reached fever-pitch with fans trying to pre-empt everything from where the game will be set to what will feature in the trailer. Jumping on the hype, Netflix is continuing to strive for its goal to become a top app for games by announcing that Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is coming to its platform on 14 December. The three games are Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which the streaming platform says have been optimised for mobile gameplay. The clever move by Netflix will likely coincide with the official release of the GTA 6 trailer, which Rockstar Games confirmed will be released in December. Netflix confirmed the games will be playable via the App Store, Google Play and in the Netflix mobile app for subscribers. It comes as Netflix is trying to up the number of users utilising the app for gameplay. According to CNBC, fewer than 1 per cent of Netflix subscribers currently use it daily to play a game on the app, though that figure translates to 2.2 million users. The streaming service also announced titles such as Hades, Death's Door and Braid: Anniversary Edition will be coming to the platform, in a bid to attract more people to play. GTA 6 fans convinced Rockstar post has just confirmed game's setting
At this point, the setting of Grand Theft Auto 6 isn't up for debate. It'd be a huge shock to see Rockstar Games swerve the much rumoured Vice City, Florida setting. Of course, there's been no official confirmation of the game's setting or any further details as fans await a hotly-anticipated trailer in early December, but a number of big leaks have pointed directly to GTA 6 following up on Grand Theft Auto: Vice City with a trip to the Sunshine State. With only 'unofficial' signs pointing to Vice City, fans have taken a recent post from Rockstar Games as a pre-trailer confirmation that the GTA series is heading back to Florida, and that the map will be based around Vice City. An X account, GTA 6 Trailer Countdown, posted a capture of a Rockstar Games with the following message: "Rockstar Games just dropped some merch including “IVC” sticker and Vice City-themed socks ahead of the GTA 6 reveal in December." This has lead to speculation that Rockstar have all but 'confirmed' Vice City as the setting of the game. However, some fans aren't convinced that the merch drop means anything at all: For now, it seems like all signs point towards a Vice City comeback judging on the leaks that have already occurred, and a return that should be announced very soon. In the meantime, you can pick up your Vice City merch here. Sign up to our free indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Four things to expect from GTA 6's first trailer
The hotly anticipated new trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto game is nearly upon us, and gamers are on tenterhooks. It has been more than 10 years since the last instalment of the world’s most popular video game, and the makers, Rockstar Games have been dropping cryptic hints about the next one over the next few months. Some fans have even reportedly quit smoking so they definitely live until the eventual release date. Safe to say, some people are unhealthily obsessed. With the trailer set to drop in early December, here are six things to expect. The location Previous Rockstar Games trailers have featured a highlight reel revealing the location of the game, and giving fans an idea of the new world they’ll be tearing up. Liberty City, Vice City, and Los Santos, the previous game locations, are as iconic to GTA players as any of its playable characters, so this is likely to be an important one. Moreover, Rockstar spends a huge amount of time and effort on world design, it’s a key part of the franchise. Any trailer will surely feature this heavily. The big question is: where will it be? A data leak last September suggested that it will be in a revamped version of Vice City – but whether that's the only location is anyone's guess. Some cars Everyone loves cruising around GTA game worlds in classic cars blasting music and occasionally stopping to commit some virtual crimes, right? Social media users certainly hope that cars – and other vehicles – will play a part in the upcoming trailer. One person commented on Reddit: “I know the game will take place in the modern era, but I really hope we'll see classic/old-school cars as well, like in GTA 5. “Something like a Chevrolet Bel Air or a Ford F-100 or basically anything from the 50s to the 80s. If 90% of the cars are going to be modern and electric, I will be pretty disappointed, not gonna lie.” How it will deal with the popularity of GTA Online The massive success of GTA Online, where players play against one another in a virtual world, will cause some headaches for people designing the trailer – and the next game in general. Will it give people the chance to continue their online adventures in the last game into the new one? Some gamers have spent untold amounts of money – and days of their life – on their GTA multiplayer profiles, so this will be a big concern for them. Other bits from the recent leak While official information about the game has been sparse, a massive data leak last September gave fans a sneak peak. About 90 videos from an in-development version of the game appeared on a forum, showing that the game might feature the series’ first playable female protagonist. The character, called Lucia, was clad in a pink outfit, and appeared to be robbing someone at gunpoint. It wouldn’t be unreasonable to expect that she will feature somewhere in the upcoming trailer. Fans on social media also speculated that the makers of the trailer will include various other, more random, aspects – one person suggested rollerblades, for example. Another person said they wanted to see a “police shootout”, which sounds a little more in-keeping with the franchise. Whatever the trailer brings, it will have gamers across the land incredibly excited.Sign up to our free indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy.
