Stray's release date has seemingly been updated to Summer 2022.
Stray was announced back in 2020 at PlayStation's Future of Gaming Event. Since then, a gameplay trailer in 2021 gave the game a release window of 2022 but very little else has been revealed. Now, it seems, that Stray will be releasing this Summer, after it was quietly announced in a video posted to Twitter.
In Stray, the player controls a small, ginger stray cat in a world run by robots. The cat solves puzzles and explores the world in an attempt to get back to its family, all while accompanied by a small companion drone.
There's a unique perspective to be had as a cat roaming around a strange city, built for robot inhabitants. Navigating through neon-filled streets, to dingy alleys, to small hideaways just big enough to fit a small fury body. Players will no doubt be looking forward to the types of puzzles and encounters they'll experience.
As told in the game's website description, "Roam surroundings high and low, defend against unforeseen threats and solve the mysteries of this unwelcoming place inhabited by nothing but unassuming droids and dangerous creatures."
Stray is set to launch this summer on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC.
