The Skullpiercer Rifling Hop-Up has made a return to Apex Legends in Season 14, along with the Double Tap.
For the unaware, Hop-Ups are special weapon attachments that can have a significant impact on the way a weapon performs. There have been a variety of Hop-Ups in play across Apex's lifespan, with the offerings usually changing each season.
For the most part, each weapon has one Hop-Up slot available, but the Bocek Compound Bow has two. Season 14 sees the return of two popular Hop-Ups from seasons past — the Skullpiercer Rifling and the Double Tap Trigger.
Skullpiercer and Double Tap Hop-Ups Return in Apex Legends Season 14
The last time we saw the Skullpiercer Hop-Up was way back in Season 8. It can be equipped onto the 30-30 Repeater, Longbow DMR, and Wingman and increases the weapon's headshot multiplier. The multiplier changes somewhat depending on which weapon its applied to: it increases Wingman's multiplier from 2.0x to 2.25x and Longbow's from 2.0x to 2.5x.
As for the Double Tap, we haven't seen this attachement since Season 7. This Hop-Up works with the EVA-8 Auto and G7 Scout, granting an alternative burst fire mode, firing two rounds per trigger pull. The second round is fired after 0.375 seconds, making it a pretty sneaky double hit.
Bringing back these two Hop-Ups is a great way to increase the flexibilty of each weapon.
Apex Legends Season 14: Hunted kicks off on Aug. 9, 2022.
