Sega has high hopes for the future. After reporting increased profits in console and PC games for the 2022 fiscal year, it expects fiscal year 2023 to continue this upward trend.

Sega Sammy, Sega's parent company, released their 2022 fiscal year results presentation this week. Information related to games Sega creates is listed under "Consumer Business," the department concerned with video games, toys, and animations.

The report states that Sega sold 4 million games that fall under the description of remake, remaster or spinoff. That includes Sonic Colors Ultimate, Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania and Last Judgement. With these numbers, Sega predicts that sales will increase to 5 million in the following financial year.

Sega's general sales amounted to around 6 million sales. For 2023, they are expecting this number to double up to 13 million sales. This prediction comes from the number of new game titles expected to see global launches in the next year: a sizable 13 games, up from seven in the previous year.

In the Sales Schedule portion of the presentation, some of the games listed for release during the 2023 fiscal year or beyond include 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, Sonic Origins, Soul Hackers 2, SONIC FRONTIERS, and Two Point Campus. However, it's worth noting that at the bottom of the page there is an annotation that states "only announced titles are listed." It's likely there are more games Sega is planning to release that we simply haven't heard of yet.
