It's taken years, but finally, a ranked game mode is headed to Call of Duty Warzone. Warzone has been a fan favorite game from the beginning. But one thing it has always lacked was a ranked game mode.
Warzone has lost some popularity over the years to games like Apex Legends. Apex has always had a well-organized ranked system and for years, Warzone has only had casual game modes. Ranked systems have always been loved by the players and the Call of Duty community has been asking for some time.
According to @TheGhostofHope, a Call of Duty player and leaker, the ranked mode will be implemented before the release of Modern Warfare Two, which releases at the end of October.
According to his tweet, the ranked mode will only be available on the Caldera map. Ranked will not be available for both Fortune's Keep and Rebirth Island.
The ranked mode that will be implemented soon is going to serve as a beta test. While Raven Software uses this time to test the system and find and fix any possible flaws.
After the test run during the current Warzone, the final version of the ranked system will be implemented with Warzone 2. Warzone 2 is expected to be released at the same time as MW2, but the release date has not yet been announced.
But the ranked mode we will see in the current Warzone, is yet to have an official release date. It can be expected to be implemented either with the start of Season 5 or with Season 4 Reloaded at the end of the month.
The way you progress through the ranks is currently unknown. It can use either MMR (Match Making Rating) that we see in games like Rocket League or a point system that we see in games like Fortnite.
