Bandai Namco have announced Pac-Man World Re-Pac, a remaster of the classic 3D platformer. Here's what you need to know.
Pac-Man is making a return via modern consoles and PC in Pac-Man World Re-Pac. The upcoming remaster brings Namco's iconic yellow mascot into the modern age with enhanced HD graphics, improvements, and new features.
The original Pac-Man World, released in 1999, saw Pac-Man's first venture into 3D. In the first entry in the Pac-Man World series, players navigated through six worlds, rescuing his friends that had been captured by the Ghosts. Pac-Man World went on to sell 1.5 million units worldwide, spawning two sequels.
According to Bandai Namco's website, Pac-Man World Re-Pac uses "current gaming hardware to deliver a HD enhanced full screen version of the original game as well as improvements for more intuitive game play."
The game includes a number of modes, including: Quest Mode, Maze Mode, and a complete version of the original game in Original Mode unlocked by completing the main game.

Pac-Man World Re-Pac is set to release on Aug. 26, 2022.
The game will be making its way to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
