With the Overwatch 2 PVP beta rolling out, and fans having a chance to experience the game on their own for the first time, excitement is building for what new changes may come over the course of its development. With so many heroes returning, it also begs the question: how many familiar faces will have changed since their release in the first Overwatch? In this article, we will cover how Cassidy has, so far, been changed in Overwatch 2.
Overwatch 2 Cassidy Rework Detailed
Cassidy appears to have stayed mostly the same between Overwatch and Overwatch 2. His weapon is still Peacekeeper, the trusty revolver no true cowboy can be seen without. His abilities are also mostly still the same, with the exception of Flashbang. Flashbang, an ability that stunned the enemies in front of him, has been replaced with Magnetic Grenade. Magnetic Grenade doesn't have any adverse effects; it is a simple short-range grenade that homes in on enemies, and deals extra damage if it is able to attach to them.
Aside from the addition of a new ability, something else to take note of is how Cassidy now has a passive ability. Because Cassidy is a Damage hero, he now has increased movement speed. All damage heroes receive the benefits of this passive. To read more about passive abilities in Overwatch 2, click here.
Overwatch 2 is still in beta, so many things could change before the official release of the game. It is expected to come out in 2023.
