Nintendo to Shut Down Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Sound Library

Nintendo will shut down its Pokémon Diamond and Pearl sound library only a few short months after opening it.

Three months after opening the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl sound library, Nintendo announced Monday it would close the service. Players have until Tuesday, May 31, to download and/or enjoy the library before Nintendo takes it offline for good. After its removal, fans will still be able to use the sounds they downloaded, according to the service's terms and conditions.

We advise those interested in the library and/or its sound profile to make use of its before end.

"As for the sound data downloaded already, you will be able to continue using it within the scope of the Terms of Use and Guidelines. You can access this website to view the Terms of Use and Guidelines after the closure of Pokémon DP Sound Library. Please make sure to follow the latest Terms of Use and Guidelines when using the sound data.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank you to everyone who has supported us since service launch."

The motivation behind the closure has not been disclosed at the time of writing.
