Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, the mobile MMORPG, is set to launch globally on May 25.
Helmed by developer Netmarble, Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds is a mobile spin-off of the Ni No Kuni franchise originally released in Japan last year. In the MMORPG, players take on the role of a beta tester for a fictional virtual reality fantasy game called "Soul Divers".
Eventually, palyers will find themselves in the midst of a fierce battle which, after escaping, leads them to the Kingdom of Evermore.
Unlike the main entries in the Ni no Kuni series, players get to choose their own class from a selection of five:
- Swordman (Attacker)
- Witch (Attacker)
- Rogue (Support)
- Engineer (Healer)
- Destroyer (Tank)
The combat system is set to be a mix of those from Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch and Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, where players battle with the help of companions/familiars.
With the global launch rolling out on May 25, players can pre-register on their devices to receive an Explorer Outfit. Signing up on Discord also earns players the Catarumpus Hat and a Special Title.
Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds will be launching on iOS, Android, and PC - featuring cross play between all of these platforms.
Both Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch and Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom are must-plays for Ghibli fans owing to the games' strongly-inspired visual style. Cross Worlds will be bringing that same style to the mobile audience.
