Magic: The Gathering's latest set, Phyrexia: All Will Be One (codenamed ONE), is releasing very soon. The set will be available first in in-store prerelease events, then come to digital adaptation Magic: The Gathering Arena, then head to stores for a full release. Here's what you need to know if you want to play with Phyrexia: All Will Be One cards early.
Phyrexia: All Will Be One is the penultimate chapter of the New Phyrexia storyline, which has the villainous bio-mechanical society of New Phyrexia orchestrate a plan to invade the Magic multiverse and spread their dominion across countless planes.
WOTC released the full card list for the set on Jan. 26, and early reactions to the set are positive. Players are excited by the possibility of powerful new cards being added to formats like Standard, Alchemy and Explorer, as well as the beautiful and horrific art style of the set.
MTG Phyrexia: All Will Be One Pre-Release Date
If you want to get a sneak peek of Phyrexia: All Will Be One before packs hit store shelves, the best way to do so is by attending a pre-release event. These events use the game's Sealed format, which gives players six booster packs and tasks them with crafting a 40+ card deck to play in a mini-tournament format. In-store pre-release events are set to happen Feb. 3-9. The set launches on Arena on Feb. 7, where a digital Sealed event will also be available.
Sealed is a popular format as it's a good, casual introduction to the set and gives some indication of the power of cards in other formats. Attending a pre-release event also gives a code that can be redeemed on Arena for six digital packs.
