Movement is one of the most important things in all multiplayer shooter games. In Warzone, the slide cancel became a vital skill that all players know.
Slide canceling is when you initiate a slide and quickly cancel it. By doing this, you give your character the ability to perform the tactical sprint quicker. In addition to replenishing your tactical sprint, slide canceling is used as a way to make your character harder to hit.
Later this year, Call of Duty and Warzone players are waiting for the release of the highly anticipated, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, a sequel to Modern Warfare 2019. Along with the release of MW2, Call of Duty is expected to release Warzone 2.
Twitch streamer FaZe Swagg revealed that he was able to take a look at the new CoD installment. Toward the end of his video, he revealed some key changes to movement.
In his video where he and Santana were watching a throwing knife compilation, Swagg mentioned that MW2, "literally played just like 2019. The feel of it."
Later he mentioned that the biggest change is that the movement is different. It's no secret that Warzone devs want to either fix or get rid of slide canceling, and Swagg may have confirmed that change.
Swagg had this to say about the movement, "The movement is different. You have the dolphin dive now, you have that aspect in the game."
After, Santana asked if there is a slide cancel. Swagg shook his head before responding, "Not like how you think it is."
Slide canceling may or may not be in the next installment of Warzone. Swagg mentioned that slide canceling wasn't even a thing when Warzone started, it was something that had to be discovered. He mentioned that pros are always finding different mechanics.
So slide canceling may be something lost forever, or a new version of it will have to be discovered when MW2 and Warzone 2 are released.
