The map, inspired by Verdansk, has 11 new POIs, horizontal ziplines, and even a night vision Gulag. Along with the fresh layout, Activision and Raven Software are also introducing new gameplay mechanics, including a much-needed change to the Gas Mask.
Here's a breakdown of what to expect in the upcoming Warzone update.
Major Gas Mask Change Coming to Warzone with Urzikstan
Raven Software confirmed a major Gas Mask change is coming to Warzone with the release of Urzikstan. Players will now be able to manually equip or remove their Gas Mask in Warzone during Modern Warfare 3 Season 1.
"Timing is everything in Warzone," Raven Software posted on X. "We've made improvements to the Gas Mask that now allow you to equip and unequip it when you want—not just when you need it."
The newfound control will help players make storm plays or sit at the edge of zone without worrying about the automatic animation throwing off their game. Fans can now employ more strategy with their Gas Mask, saving it for endgame or only using it when it is absolutely necessary.
According to CharlieIntel, Gas Masks will also counter Tear Gas in the upcoming Warzone update. All in all, the changes are a big win for the Warzone community.
When Does Urzikstan Go Live?
Urzikstan goes live on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023, at 12 p.m. ET. With the end of Warzone Season 6, Urzikstan is finally dropping in the Modern Warfare 3 era after months of anticipation.
Those looking to get a sneak preview of the map can play it in Zombies until the update drops alongside Modern Warfare 3 Season 1.
