Loadout Drops are now purchasable at Buy Stations in Call of Duty: Warzone 2, Raven Software announced Tuesday.
Fresh off of the heels of doubling the average number of Buy Stations per match, making the Loadout Drop public event occur one circle earlier than before and reducing the cost of Primary Loadout Weapons to $2,500, it appears obtaining Loadouts is now perhaps the easiest it's ever been in Warzone history.
Throughout the early run of Warzone 2 so far, the most drastic change from the original experience was the removal of Loadout Drops. Since players could no longer simply go to a Buy Station to call in their loadouts, their alternatives were to fight for the Loadout Drop public event creates or clear out Strongholds.
As to be expected, there were plenty of discussions within the community up to this point regarding whether or not the move was warranted. Making loadouts less abundant arguably made it easier to regain after a rough start. On the other hand, loadouts are essentially what makes Warzone unique in the battle royale space altogether.
Ultimately, whether it be due to sheer player pushback, or the theorized decrease in bundle sales, the devs have decided to go and bring back Loadout Drops.
It is also worth mentioning that the "Loadout Drop Grenades" do have a different price depending on the game mode:
- Solos - $8,000
- Duos - $16,000
- Trios - $24,000
- Quads - $32,000
Ultimately, it will be interesting if this move sits well with the community. In the meantime, there are still a number of other gameplay decisions that have remained pretty polarizing among players, including the lack of customizable Perks and the inability to sprint while plating.
