NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Kai Cenat has been hogging the limelight of late – for good reasons and bad. Right after he broke the record for most number of subscribers on Twitch, his fan event in New York City began an unintentional riot.
Now, the streamer seems eager to move on from that fiasco by unveiling his first movie trailer starring his friend, Ray, whom he met during his trip to Japan.
The teaser is currently going viral, and some are dubbing it the streamer's comeback after the recent Union Square riot, where Kai Cenat's New York City giveaway descended into chaos.
The musician Lil Yachty makes a brief appearance at the very end of the short film's clip, which also stars Fanum.
Kai Cenat's movie release date
Fans of Kai Cenat discovered that a video had been added to the streamer's YouTube channel on August 23.
The clip is a trailer for the movie 'Global Pursuit,' which seems to follow two buddy cops — Ray and Cenat. They participate in a sting operation behaving much like Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker in 'Rush Hour'.
Even the Edwin Starr song 'War', famously used in the first 'Rush Hour' movie, is featured in the preview clip.
The movie will broadcast on Kai Cenat's YouTube channel on August 25, 2023 but it still doesn't have a synopsis.
Although Cenat has occasionally appeared in hilarious sketches as an actor, this will be the first time that fans will truly get to witness him in action.
Comments are generally enthusiastic, if cautiously upbeat. While some, like Adin Ross, are ecstatic that Cenat will get his very own movie, others are referring to the upcoming project as the 'Walmart Rush Hour'.
Fans appear to be highly enthusiastic about the movie overall, but nothing is known about it at this point beyond its obvious references to the buddy cop genre.
Cenat is not the only influencer making moves to showcase his acting skills. There is also Addison Rae, who has bagged the lead role in the upcoming horror movie 'Thanksgiving'.
