As the community continues to voice their disappointment with the current state of Call of Duty, fans are wondering if Warzone is shutting down in 2023.
Call of Duty: Warzone burst onto the scene in 2020 with Verdansk, elite movement, and a much more balanced weapon pool. Now, even with the addition of Warzone Ranked, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 lacks the excitement and smooth gameplay of the original.
Although recent leaks have given a bit of insight into the next Call of Duty title, they have failed to touch on the future of Warzone in 2023.
Is Warzone Shutting Down in 2023?
No, Warzone is not shutting down in 2023. However, Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera will be shutting down on Sept. 21, 2023. The original Warzone will no longer exist in 2023 come September.
Once Warzone Caldera shuts down, all skins from the original Warzone will be gone forever. Players will only retain their purchased content from Modern Warfare (2019), Black Ops Cold War, and Vanguard in each respective game.
Following the negative community backlash, Activision hinted that all weapons, Operators, and Bundles from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will carry over to the rumored Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The full reveal for Call of Duty 2023 is coming in Warzone Season 5.
