Nihilego, the Parasite Pokemon from Generation VII, is making its Pokemon GO debut. In honor of Pokemon GO Fest, the largest Pokemon GO event of the year, players have a chance to catch and add this Ultra Beast to their team, either through a 5-Star Raid or through an encounter from completing Special Research. However, will players be able to encounter a Shiny Nihilego?
Is Nihilego Shiny in Pokemon GO?
Unfortunately, players are not able to catch a shiny Nihilego at this time. While it may be possible to catch a shiny Nihilego in the future, the base-form is the only available option in 5-star Raids at this time.
Nihilego appeared in 5-Star raids on Sunday, June 5, and there is no news of when it will appear in Raids again. However, players who purchase a Pokemon GO Fest ticket will have access to exclusive in-game content, including Special Research titled A Radiant World. As a reward for finishing the fourth set of tasks, players will have an encounter with Nihilego, and can attempt to catch it.
Players who purchase a Pokemon GO Fest ticket will have access to a final event that will take place on Saturday, Aug. 27.
