A new Microsoft survey has seemingly sparked doubt over the continuation of Halo Infinite.
A new Xbox Research survey was recently sent round to players quizzing them on their gaming habits. The survey, as posted to Twitter by user @Mr_Rebs_ was seemingly gauging interest in 343 Industry's Halo franchise. Players who were signed up to take part in Xbox Research may have received the survey.
As pictured, players were asked: "Are you done playing Halo Infinite?" Players could respond with either "Yes", "No", or "Maybe."
The survey comes a few weeks after Microsoft announced plans to lay-off 10,000 employees of which Halo developer 343 Industries was heavily affected by. So what does this mean for Halo Infinite? Will it be shutting down in 2023?
Is Halo Infinite Ending in 2023?
While the initial survey question might have sparked some panic, it doesn't look like 343 has any plans to end service of Halo Infinite just yet.
The survey also included questions which asked players to rate how they felt about certain statements, including: "I think 343 Industries is listening and making changes to Halo Infinite based on community feedback" and "I think 343 Industries is doing a good job communicating with the community."
Additionally, the survey goes on to ask players which traditional Halo multiplayer game modes they would like to see appear in Halo Infinite, such as Infection, Firefight, Extraction and more.
It's possible Microsoft might just be collecting feedback on how best to support the game in future updates.
Following the news of layoffs, 343 studio head Pierre Hintze posted a statement via the official Halo account which read, "Halo and Master Chief are here to stay. 343 Industries will continue to develop Halo now and in the future, including epic stories, multiplayer, and more of what makes Halo great."
So, for now, it seems Halo Infinite is set to remain online in 2023.
