Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is available now and players are excited to dive into the multiplayer portion of the mech-action game. Unfortunately, there's some barriers to entry.
Armored Core VI is the first main series entry in the franchise in over 11 years and the first FromSoftware game since the acclaimed Elden Ring. The series has featured multiplayer aspects for a long time and Fires of Rubicon is no different. Players want to battle others with their AC units and show off their unique customizations and decals. Though, players can't jump in right away.
Here's how to unlock multiplayer in Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon.
How to Unlock Armored Core 6 Multiplayer
Players have to complete a portion of the main single player story to unlock multiplayer, or NEST. Once players complete the Ocean Crossing mission, the finale of Chapter 2, NEST will unlock allowing players to battle against one another.
Does Armored Core 6 Have Crossplay?
Unfortunately, no. Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon does not offer crossplay functionality for multiplayer. Xbox players can only fight Xbox players and so on and so forth. The lack of crossplay functionality even extends to the Share ID system. Players can only use Share IDs from players on the same platform.
Armored Core 6 Multiplayer Modes
There are two multiplayer modes in AC VI: 1-v-1 and 3-v-3. Players can also alter the time limit, map, number of participants and who can join once in NEST.
