Wondering how to get NPCs in Core Keeper? Here's what you need
Core Keeper is an online co-op mining sandbox game from Pugstorm and Fireshine Games. Players will find themselves building up a base, fighting various monsters, farming resources, and crafting items in order to survive underground.
With that in mind, here's how you can get NPCs.
How to Get NPCs in Core Keeper
NPCs are unlocked by killing a different world boss and getting the spawn item. As of right now, there are three known NPCs: the Bearded Merchant, the Caveling Merchant, and the Spirit Merchant. Each NPC has a different spawn item: Slime Oil dropped by Glurch the Abominous for the Bearded Merchant, Mysterious Idol dropped by Ghorm the Devourer for the Caveling Merchant, and Ancient Hologram Pod for the Spirit Merchant. The last item is a bit different from the others because it needs to be crafted in The Hive Mother Statue.
From there, you must recruit the NPCs by building them a room. The room itself must be no bigger than 8x8 tiles with a Wood Door and a Bed that is not already taken. Next, you need to place the spawn item in the room to attract an NPC to it. During this process, you need to be more than 30 tiles away from the area for the NPC to move in.
Due to the fact that killing bosses are required to unlock NPCs, you will most likely not be able to get them until you have made decent progress in your game. The 1-8 player sandbox adventure game is available now on Steam Early Access.
