Valve announced Counter-Strike 2 on Mar. 22 coming as a free update to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive this summer.
CS2 is set to revolutionize the popular, tactical first-person shooter with new features including updated servers, lighting, smoke systems and much more. Players will be able to try out Counter-Strike 2 through a Limited Test which will likely run up until CS2's release this summer. Players who are initially selected can try out the new Dust2 in both Deathmatch and Unranked Competitive playlists.
Here's how to get access for the sought after Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test.
How to Get CS2 Limited Test Access
According to Valve, "Players are selected based on a number of factors deemed important by the Counter-Strike 2 development team, including (but not limited to) recent playtime on Valve official servers, trust factor, and Steam account standing."
Steam account standing is likely to be an important factor when determining if one gets access or not. If a player has a VAC ban on their account, either for a Counter-Strike title or something else, perhaps they are less likely altogether to not receive access to the test.
Players will know they've been given access if a notification pops up inside of CS:GO's main menu. Once the notification pops up, you'll receive the option to enroll in the Limited Test followed by a download.
