For fans of the series, God of War Ragnarök features some familiar attack moves from both Kratos and Atreus. Similar to God of War (2018), Kratos can perform a special attack on enemies from above. Here's how you do it.
Also recognizable in God of War Ragnarök is Kratos's ability to frost his Leviathan Axe and charge his Blades of Chaos, which both have some significant differences in accessibility and function from the previous game.
How to Attack Enemies From Above in God of War Ragnarök
To attack enemies from above, you'll need to have access to a ledge on higher ground. Simply jump off the ledge, and press R1 while you're in the air to successfully perform the attack. While this can be done on any ledge, the higher the ground you have on your enemies, the more time you'll have to time the attack correctly before hitting the ground.
The effects of the attack will also differ depending on whether you are using the Leviathan Axe or the Blades of Chaos. If you have frosted the Leviathan Axe, it will frost the area around you, and if you haven't, it cause stun damage on enemies around you. The Blades of Chaos, on the other hand, will cause widespread burn damage instead.
