Back 4 Blood's first DLC expansion is now live. Here's how to get started with Tunnels of Terror.
Like its spiritual predecessor Left 4 Dead, Back 4 Blood offers players some brand new levels and content to keep the fight against the Ridden going. Tunnels of Terror, the first DLC expansion, adds in seven Ridden Hives for players to navigate through in the search of some Legendary weapons.
On top of that, two new Cleaners have been added into the mix - Heng and Sharice. This DLC is accompanied by a large April update, adding in new Player Cards, Legendary weapons and attachments, new achievements, and a brand new difficulty level - No Hope.
So, if you think you're brave enough to test your mettle in this new DLC you might be wondering how to access it.
How to Start Back 4 Blood DLC Expansion Tunnels of Terror
Knowing how to access DLC in any game can often be confusing, and the same might be true for Back 4 Blood. Players who purchased the Ultimate and Deluxe editions of the game will have the DLC included at no extra costs. Others will need to purchase it for roughly $15.
Now, if you're familiar with Left 4 Dead, you might be looking for a specific level to select in order to start the DLC. But, in Back 4 Blood, it doesn't really work like that. Instead, all of the DLC content - for this expansion at least - is woven into the main game. You won't need to select anything from Fort Hope, rather you'll come across one of the seven Ridden Hives throughout the game's campaign.
The appearance of the Ridden Hives are random, but if you're worried about missing them it's good to ensure someone in the group is playing as one of the new Cleaners - Heng or Sharice. Heng is a particularly useful Cleaner to have when hunting for Ridden Hives, as he's able to sense them from a fair distance away.
Be sure to check out everything that's been added in the April update and Tunnels of Terror DLC to see what you'll need to be on the lookout for.
