Handheld gaming devices have evolved tremendously since the release of the Game Boy in 1989. Portable devices like these allowed gamers to play their favorite games on the go and introduced some of the greatest franchises. The Nintendo Switch and the Steam Deck also became incredibly popular. The former offers a hybrid gaming experience, while the latter lets you play Steam games anywhere.
Yet another handheld device named the Asus ROG Allly launched on June 13th, and it's a noteworthy rival against other portable consoles. Let's find out how much it costs.
How Much is the Asus ROG Ally?
There's only one model currently available: the ROG Ally with the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor. It costs $700, and you can purchase the device on the Republic of Gamers' official website and Best Buy in the US.
Although that's pretty pricey, the ROG Ally might be worth it. This Windows 11 device features RDNA 3 graphics, making it capable of playing the latest AAA games at 1080p. The Ally also features an ergonomic design and a dual-fan cooling system for a comfortable gaming experience. You can even access all your games via the device's library, regardless of where they're installed.
According to Digital Trends, another $600 model with an AMD Ryzen Z1 processor will release later in the year. This console version will, of course, be less powerful, but it'll save you a hefty hunk of change.
