Shield Bubbles are back in Fortnite! But how do they work?
Fortnite's latest v21.50 Battle Royale update saw the return of a number of stealth-based weapons. Part of the Shadow of Phantasm Week, the Suppressed Assault Rifle, Suppressed SMG, Shadow Bomb, and Shield Bubble have all been unvaulted and feature in a number of limited-time quests.
But outside of these quests, it's important to know how to use the returning weapons and items effectively. One item that's been drawing a bit of confusion is the Shield Bubble. Here's how to use it to your advantage.
How to Use the Shield Bubble in Fortnite
The Shield Bubble operates a bit like a grenade. Players can throw it down onto the ground to generate a dome-like "bubble." This bubble is then invulnerable to explosives and bullets fired from outside, giving players a quick reprieve from incoming fire.
The Shield Bubble lasts for 30 seconds, and players can move in and out of it as needed. To destroy it sooner, players will need to destroy the object in the middle that generates the bubble. The Shield Bubble can also be thrown onto a vehicle for a more mobile defense.
It's important to note that the Shield Bubble doesn't negate all damage. Shots can still be fired at other players if both parties are stood inside the bubble, so it's not safe to camp inside one for too long.
The Shield Bubble can be found as ground loot, in Chests, and from Supply Drops.
