Genshin Impact developers announced in a Facebook comment that the livestream for the 2.7 update has been delayed.
The launch of the 2.7 update was a speculation spread by popular leak accounts such as Facio_Leaks on Twitter. According to them, the livestream event should've been on or around April 29. Although this has been assumed, Genshin Impact has not made an announcement regarding this information - until now.
Under an unrelated post on Facebook about newly released web event wallpapers, miHoYo stated, "The Special Program for Version 2.7 has been Temporarily Delayed, we apologize for the issue."
Since they confirmed the leaks yet postponed the event, players are wondering when the update will be unveiled. Here's what we know so far.
When Will Genshin Impact 2.7 Livestream Happen?
While there are no clear cut dates announced quite yet, there are underlying circumstances that may delay this for even longer. The COVID-19 outbreak and lockdown in China has impacted daily lives in the region as well as workplace developments. miHoYo, which is based in Shanghai, is no exception. They are attempting to focus on Genshin Impact's development while being in the midst of this crisis.
Weeks before the speculated release date, Reddit user Ka_Minnn predicted that the event would be postponed due to COVID-19 and other various reasons. These include the cancellation of the teapot event, as well as the last event for version 2.6 happening until May 13.
At the time of writing, we suspect that the livestream will not occur until after or around May 13, due to the final event of 2.6 and the safety of the developers. This means that the delay may last a few weeks.
