A new shotgun, the prime shotgun, has entered Fornite, dealing damage in an all-new way.

The Prime Shotgun has arrived with the launch of Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 3's most recent update, v21.30. According to patch notes published yesterday by The Fortnite Team, "the new Prime Shotgun, deal[s] the most damage with the first shot of the clip — no warm-up required!"

To see the accomplished streamer SypherPK try out the new Prime Shotgun, check out the clip below reposted on YouTube by Daily Clips Central.

The fact that the Prime Shotgun is most potent when fully loaded obviously increases the importance of the first shot in an altercation. In addition, it definitely increases the importance of reloading between foes as well.

As Sypher demonstrates in the video above, the remaining three shells pack quite a substantial punch as well. He even goes so far as saying that the Prime Shotgun may be the current "GOAT shotgun" available in Fortnite Battle Royale. Although their aim may not be as good as Sypher's the same may be true for more amateur players.

According to Epic's patch notes, the Prime Shotgun can be found anywhere any other weapon can be found, including "on the ground, in Chests, Supply Drops, Reality Saplings, fishing, and sharks."
