FromSoftware have announced major DLC for Elden Ring, titled Shadow of the Erdtree. But when is it set to release?
Developer FromSoftware announced today that Elden Ring will be receiving its long-awaited DLC, titled Shadow of the Erdtree. The expansion was announced just a few days after the game's first anniversary, having initially launched on Feb. 25, 2022.
The developers took to Twitter to reveal the DLC, saying, "Rise, Tarnished, and let us walk a new path together. An upcoming expansion for Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, is currently in development.
We hope you look forward to new adventures in the Lands Between."
The announcement was accompanied by some new art, which shows a field full of spirit graves and scattered ruins. In the distance, the dying Erdtree can be seem looming over the landscape. A woman with long, blonde hair can be seen riding a horse that appears to be Torrent.
When Does Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Release?
At the time of writing, neither FromSoftware or publisher Bandai Namco have releaved the release date for the upcoming DLC, only that it is currently in development. So far, very little has been revealed about the expansion as a whole, including plot, characters, or how it will tie into the main story.
It seems that the expansion will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
The last major update for Elden Ring came in the form of the Colosseum, which launched on Dec. 7, 2022. The update introduced new PvP modes where players can battle against each other in arenas scattered around The Lands Between.
