Diablo Immortal is the latest game set to be released by Blizzard Entertainment. An action-oriented MMORPG, the game is set in-between the events of Diablo II and Diablo III. Players will choose from one of six classes, and traverse a world filled with a variety of humans, angels, and demons in the world of Sanctuary. But will players need to spend their real-world money to be able to access certain features within the game?
Does Diablo Immortal Have Microtransactions?
While Diablo Immortal will be free-to-play, players will have the option to make in-app purchases. In an article posted on the Blizzard website, the goal for in-app purchases in Diablo Immortal is for purchases to "feel like a bonus" and that players "should be able to enjoy the game for hours on end whether or not you choose to spend money."
For Blizzard, the ideal is that players who do not decide to make in-app purchases will still be able to have a way to earn the same things people may decide to pay for. They also emphasized that playing the game will be the only way to acquire gear, meaning players cannot use real-world money to help gain access to higher-quality gear unfairly. However, players can choose to purchase Specialized Reforging Stones, which helps players forge gear with properties they may desire.
Diablo Immortal will officially release worldwide on June 2, 2022. The game will be available to both mobile and PC players.
