After a disappointing Season 17, Apex Legends Season 18 is coming with some much-needed Ranked Changes.
Apex Legends Season 17 introduced new Legend, Ballistic, and changes to the Ranked system. Ladder Points replaced RP and rewarded players for placement rather than kills, and match entry costs became static for all ranks. The changes make it easier than ever before to climb the ladder and reach Masters.
As a result, Apex Legends' current rank distribution is a poor reflection of actual skill. Fortunately, it looks like the developers are updating the system in Season 18.
Apex Legends Season 18 Upcoming Ranked Changes
Despite no official announcements from Respawn Entertainment, Apex Legends developer, Aaron "Exgeniar" L, took to the game's subreddit and assured fans the current Ranked system will undergo significant changes in the upcoming season.
After the developer praised a player for reaching Masters, one user joined the thread and asked, "So you think the current system is fine? Are there any changes we can expect next season?" Much to the excitement of the community, Exgeniar promised, "You can definitely expect changes next season."
Although the statement is vague, Exgeniar is hopefully hinting that climbing the ladder in Ranked will once again be a rewarding experience in Season 18.
