League of Legends is a game that has been limited in the amount of creative game modes available from the player base. There are some rotating game modes that players enjoy, such as Ultra Rapid Fire (URF) and Nexus Blitz. Although for the most part, players are forced to mostly stick with Summoner's Rift and All Random All Mid (ARAM.)
In 2023, Riot Games is looking to broaden their horizons and add a brand new game mode to League of Legends that will be quick and help create new build paths for champions.
2v2v2v2 League of Legends Mode Announced
As of yesterday, Riot released a dev blog that went in depth on the brand new 2v2v2v2 game mode releasing later this year. The game mode will be similar to Teamfight Tactics (TFT), but players will be controlling the champions and utilizing the items built themselves. This is an interesting take for a new game mode, as TFT has shown a lot of success since its release in 2019.
There will be four teams of two, and the teams will be paired into deathmatch rounds. After losing a certain amount of rounds, teams will be eliminated and can immediately queue again. Therefore, this game mode is similar to TFT Double Up, except players can control their units.
The player base can look forward to its release later this year.
