Earlier today, Activision announced the return of the 1v1 gulag — a fan-favorite format.
Previously it was revealed that Warzone 2 would be getting a new 2v2 gulag format, the idea of which left many players feeling frustrated. The planned system made its first appearance during a Call of Duty Next showcase, giving players a glimpse at what was to come.
But, it seems players can breathe a small sigh of relief, as Activision announced today that 1v1 gulags were coming back instead.
Posted to Twitter via the official Raven Software and Infinity Ward accounts, the announcement read: "1v1’s are back in Battle Royale."
"Gulag updates are coming in Season 02. We’ll be sharing more details about this in next week’s studio blog."
Earlier this week it was revealed that Season 2 for both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 would be delayed, releasing on Feb. 15 rather than the previously assumed Feb. 1.
Infinity Ward, developers behind Modern Warfare 2, expanded on the delay announcement, saying that they will be sharing more details on the upcoming Season 2 in a "deep-dive studio blog" next week.
